Auto Blog Samurai - FTP Problem 6 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Everyone,

Recently bought ABS and I'm having problems with the FTP function which allows for images to be uploaded to a folder of my choice which will in turn, allow the images to be displayed on my Blogger.com blog.

I've entered all my FTP details including username and password and I've created a folder called 'blog-images' within one of my web sites want2buyit.com.

The trouble I'm having is that although my FTP details have been entered correctly, after pulling say Amazon content for posting, whilst my posts are uploaded, the images do not display - instead, the place where the image would be displayed shows an empty placeholder.

I've looked in my 'blog-images' folder on my hosting account and no images have been uploaded.

Have requested help on this matter a few times from ABS but they simply re-inform me of how to set this up and refer me back to the software's PDF.

Can anyone help or suggest anything so I can get the images displaying correctly please ?

Incidentally, an example blog which will show you what I mean is digital-ir-photography.blogspot.com ...

Hi Jane,

Please try this.

Add "\" at the end of your images URL. i.e.
www.want2buyit.com/blog-images\

Insert this images URL into "Images posted here can be accessed at".

See if works.

Hi NgYeoNam,

Thanks for your support - just tried adding 2 posts - one with a forward slash at the end of my folder name / and the other with a back slash but still the images are not displaying ... i.e. www.want2buyit.com/blog-images/ and www.want2buyit.com/blog-images\ ...

I've also taken out the www.want2buyit.com bit, just leaving the actual folder but still my images won't show up on the blog.

I've taken a look in my FTP account and no images are actually in the blog-images folder ???

Can anyone help me further please ?

To follow on ... can anyone tell me if you have to physically connect to your FTP account to upload all images linked to in the blogger blog ?

i.e. I use Win SCP, if I download content and there is a picture included - do I have to copy and save it or something to my hard drive and then do I have to use my FTP client to upload the image to my own web space ?

Or should ABS automatically do all this for me - i.e. make a connection to my FTP account and upload the image to my specified image folder (all working in the background) whilst I'm uploading my posts ?

If so, it seems I'm been getting things wrong - duh ...

Can anyone clarify this for me - pretty please

Hi Jane,

FYI, I am also a user of ABS who bought it recently.

I had the same problem of images not shown up initially. However, it had been rectified and has been working fine after I got help from the helpful support manager Krish G.

I will list down what I have done and perhaps you would like to go through and see if it can help you to figure out the porblem.

I would like to mention that I am NOT technical savy. I normally follow closely the instructions sometimes with trial and error.

Here are what I have done:

(1) Create FTP Account
(I use cpanel. My main domain is www.myname.com. I use myaddondomain for this instance. I created a
sub-directory "aimages". )
Login: myaddondomain@myname.com
Password: created a new password
Directory: the one I created (at first I made the mistake of selecting default)

(2) Configured the FTP account with FTP client Filezilla

(3) Open Auto Blogging Software and filled up the FTP details
as follows

Server: ftp.myname.com
FTP User Name: myaddondomain@myname.com
Password: The new password I created.
Images posted here can be accessed at : www.myaddondomain.com/aimages\

Please let me know if you need clarification.

Hi Jane,

I don't have to physically connect to my FTP account when ABS uploads my posts and images to my blog.
